Earth Day Transportation at Tower School

Alternative Transportation Day Results

Earth Day Transportation Chart

Earth Day was celebrated for a full week last month, which culminated in student-led composting demonstrations, a scavenger hunt, seed plantings, and one of our favorites—Alternative Transportation Day.

Students from Tower’s Environmental Committee surveyed those who participated in Alternative Transportation Day about their method of transportation to school. From the group of 142 respondents, biking and carpooling topped the list of energy-conscious modes of transportation, followed by: riding the bus, walking, and skateboarding.

Since Alternative Transportation Day, we’ve noticed that our bike rack holds a few new bikes each week!

A mighty thank you to our Student Environmental Committee for your good stewardship of the environment, and for inspiring so many of us to reach for our bikes and walking shoes.

We feel healthier already.

It’s very interesting to look over the graph that you provide. Thank you for raising and keeping our awareness about our transportation habits, Environmental Committee!
